Botulinum toxin, botox (BTX), acts by making temporary but irreversible (irreversible) muscle paralysis. Its effect starts in 2-3 days, reaches maximum effectiveness in 7-10 days and lasts for 4-6 months. Practical application areas such as eyebrow, forehead, eyebrow lifting, crow’s feet, neck bands, lip streaks, masseter muscle for chin and face shaping, and hand-foot-armpit sweating treatment, strabismus, blepharospasm, cerebral palsy, migraine and trismus There are medical applications such as etc.
Migraine is one of the most common types of headache and its treatment is with medication. It is treated by neurologists. However, some patients may benefit from BTX application. In recent studies, some trigger points in the head have been shown to be effective in the development of migraine attacks. Therefore, BTX applications to these points can be very beneficial. Thus, the frequency of migraine headaches, the strength and effect of pain can be reduced; patient’s comfort can be increased significantly.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
BTX is not available in some cases.
- Existing muscular diseases [neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis and Eaton-Lambert syndrome, motor neuron diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and peripheral motor neuropathic diseases]
- Infection at the injection site
- A known hypersensitivity to any substance in the formulation
Patients receiving aminoglycoside antibiotics or other drugs that affect neuromuscular transmission (non-depolarizing blockers such as cura, calcium channel blockers, quinidine, magnesium sulfate, succinyl choline)
It is not recommended to use it in pregnancy and lactation since it is not known exactly whether it passes into breast milk.
STATUS OF MUSCLES AFTER APPLICATION
After the product is applied, it is spread over an area of 2.5-3 cm. No degeneration or atrophy was detected in the histological examination of the biopsy material taken after the procedure from patients who had undergone BTX for two to five times for aesthetic reasons.
SIDE EFFECTS
Side effects have been reported, albeit very rarely (flu-like syndrome, muscle pain-weakness, headache, dizziness, fever-chills, hypertension, diarrhea, abdominal pain).
