Botulinum neurotoxin (BTX) is the first microbial protein to be applied for medical purposes.
Apart from wrinkle treatment, it is used successfully and safely in the treatment of excessive sweating, which today is a subject that disrupts the comfort of life.
Hand-foot and armpit areas are the most common places. Its application is extremely easy and takes a short time.
Its effect starts in 2-3 days, reaches maximum effectiveness in 7-10 days, and an average of 6 months of persistence is reported.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
BTX is not available in some cases.
- Existing muscular diseases [neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis and Eaton-Lambert syndrome, motor neuron diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and peripheral motor neuropathic diseases]
- Infection at the injection site
- A known hypersensitivity to any substance in the formulation
Patients receiving aminoglycoside antibiotics or other drugs that affect neuromuscular transmission (non-depolarizing blockers such as cura, calcium channel blockers, quinidine, magnesium sulfate, succinyl choline)
It is not recommended to use it in pregnancy and lactation since it is not known exactly whether it passes into breast milk.
